HELLO.

im back from OBS. and i miss it totally.
obs was like really fun, with MARCO POLO.
haha. that was the group that i was in.

the other people in my group were: melissa ling, shi hui, min zhen, jessie, claire, huang, hui jie, yi bo, april, ting, an qi, you fang, shi yuan, yu wei, georgienne. in order of memory.

okay, i'll try to start from day 1 without missing out much info. if you are too lazy to read, just scroll down to the random facts. haha. either that or just the blue portions.

DAY ONE
we took a bus to ponggol jetty and then a boat to PULAU UBIN. we reached there at about 10 am at camp 2. and waited for the remainding classes to arrive. after that, we were assigned our instructors. MARCO POLO got BIRIN. haha. he's this funny malay guy who keeps telling us rubbish. and had CURLY hair. we did the least activities on day one. we were the first group to pitch our tents. seriously, everything we learnt in guides were totally useful for this. haha. so we knew how to pitch the tents and all that liao. melissa ling, jessie and i. my tent was shared with shi hui, mel, hui jie. the terrain was the second best among the four nights.

after that, we went to do belaying at the belay school station. this was like fun larh. compared to the day's activities. haha. i did it twice, cause we were fast. it was soon dinner time and we did cooking near our tents. we ate like half-cooked rice, sausages, baked beans and brown peanuts. we spilt alot of food during the cooking of this dinner. so we had less to eat. haha. but it didnt matter, cause i bet we would have had leftovers anyway. haha. when me and georgienne heard there were sausages we were like WAH. good. im interested in the sausages. haha. but we erent together. i was told we had the same reaction. haha. after dinner, we bathed, had a debrief and a brief about tomorrow, plus a fire drill. haha. and then slept. this was the only night that it didnt rain.

DAY TWO
we woke up at five-twenty am. and then striked our tents, and started packing our harversack. we were a mobile team so we had to be at different places every day. haha. in the morning, we played a game while waiting for birin. some animal game that huang taught. it was pretty funny and i kept screwing up. haha. and everyone had funny movements. haha. i was the crocodile. and there were butterflies and fish and huang's funny snake. where her head would move with the actions of her hands which min zhen imitated really funny-ly. haha. and soon, we learnt how to kayak and the kayaks were heavy. we used the red ones, which were without the leg covers. haha. soon, we were in the waters. it was like cold and salty. we had to test whether the lifevests worked so we were like putting ourselves into the waters. after lunch, we headed out. we learnt how to capsize and also how to direct the kayak. along the way, water entered someone's kayak. so they had to return and change it. so that held up abit of time. we beached up on the part of the island in the middle of the sea. haha. and ate some food there. i peed there too. haha. we were taught to do so okay. haha. after awhile, we continued on the journey. at this time, the tide and waves were pretty much against us. we began treadmilling along the same spot. we beached up on camp 1. the instructors decided that we should head for another part of the island as it was getting late.

so we reached this part of the island and stayed overnight there. it was rocky and full of weird insects. it was like biting us. haha. we were all tired and guess what. WE DIDNT GET TO BATH. either that or you go to the sea to bath. but like what for right. the sea is dirty. haha. and salty. so we pitched our tents with rocks instead of pegs cause the ground was too hard to allow pegs to be grounded in and went to sleep. it rained hard and resulted us in not being able to star gaze. how upsetting. haha.

DAY THREE
we woke up at six-fifteen am. i was aching all over by this morning. haha. striked our tents and ate breakfast. breakfast was peanut butter and bread. we didnt have a knife so jessie held on to the bottle while everyone took turns to dip our bread into the bottle. haha. and time and again bread got stuck inside and she would exclaim, whose bread ah. take it out and eat okay. haha. and she would randomly call someone's name regardless of whether they even used the peanut butter and ask them to take it out. haha. it was funny and huang did it most of the time. haha.
we then trekked to a quarry, which had clean nice water. haha. we built a raft there, which held on together well enough. it managed to contain all 17 of us, including the instructor, which i heard that many other watches didnt manage to. haha. so kudos to MARCO POLO. haha. we changed to dry clothes in the bushes, and had mass toilet trips to the bushes. haha. it was quite an experience. haha. to pee in the bushes. haha. and after that we started to eat our rations.

we continued on the land expedition whereby we had to walk almost 3 to 5 km from where ever we were to camp 1, our final destination. along the way, there would be checkpoints to find.
we managed to find them quite easily. haha. the second checkpoint was funny. it was behind a tree and we were like walking past it and then wondered but it should be around here. and then min zhen went. ai ya. put down our bags and find larh. haha. just so nicely, she stopped at the tree that held the checkpoint. haha. so after finding it, we continued on the journey to camp 1. on the way i ate an apple. haha. so random. and we reached it soon. haha. at camp 1, which was like a luxurious camp, we had prepared food for dinner. it was like yum yum. we all ate ALOT. haha. okay. me. i took much rice and the food was like a given amount by the people there. we pitched our tents and bathed and all.

at night, melissa ling woke me up. guess what.
she said: i need to shit. come on lets go. later i shit on my pants how. haha.
and i was like: what the. u very mah fan lerh. cant you like wait till morning. haha.
i was kinda tired. but we went in the end. and along the way we saw dogs. haha. on the way back from the toilet to the tent, this dog was in the way. and we were like how ah. haha. and we stoned awhile and it went away. haha. so we quickly walked back to the tent. but i heard it come around our tents in the night. haha. so after sleeping for awhile more, mel ling started to search for sth. she was dreaming you know. and then she searched quite vigoriously, and frantically. and i was awoken.
and i asked her: what you looking for?
she said: hair tie.
i was like: isnt it in the other bag.
she went: no, wheres the pocket.
i went: what pocket? (she was fiddling on the ground, which was laid with the poncho. and you know the poncho had the hood part, she was like finding a pocket in there)
she went: the pocket the pocket.
i went: the hairtie is in the other bag larh. the toiletries bag.
she was like: oh really ah. oh. okay. (and she went back to sleep telling me she was dreaming)
at that time i was too tired to laugh. haha. i didnt think it was funny until the next morning.
so it rained really heavy and our tent started flooding. haha. i went over to jessie's tent and asked if their's were flooding too. and so it was. so me and georgienne went under my umbrella to find the instructors. we were told to evacuate to the multi-purpose hall and sleep there. so we went and woke everyone up. haha. even those whose tents werent flooded. cause the instructor said everyone. so it should mean EVERYONE. haha.

DAY FOUR
i didnt sleep from then on, and we went around to the toilets and all. at seven, we went to eat breakfast. haha. it was prepared food. fried noodles, with sausage. breakfast was like funny larh. we talked about the 7 jonathons. haha. ask me on msn larh. its abit too much to say. haha. after breakfast we striked tents and went rock climbing. it was really tiring. the inclined one was not too bad. but the rocks itself was small and hard to grip. but i managed to reach the top. most of us did larh. the one with the contours were like really a challenge. i couldnt get past 3m. haha. i think im too short. haha. i love the swinging part after you decide to fall for the contours one. haha. after that, we went for lunch and continued on the 7 jons. haha. eye-candy during lunch. after that we continued trekking back to camp 2. which was like super near compared to everywhere else we walked. and birin lied that it would be a two-hour walk when it was only like 15 mins. haha. so we were the first watch to reach camp two and we took our time to wash up everything. we arranged ponchos, backpacks and all that. then birin cooked dinner for us, and it was like neat and fast larh. we had maggie mee and all the remaining can food and food that had to be cooked for dinner. it was like alot larh. and we ended up throwing alot away.

after dinner, we went to do the dungeon thing. which was like dark and small. we stayed in there for 20 mins. haha. and then were let out after which we pitched our tents and debriefed. we slept in the tent for the last night. sigh sigh. haha.

DAY FIVE
we woke up at 6am. striked our tents and washed them. and then began to pack our bags and the store. after everything, birin brought us to the sea and told us to set a commitment for ourselves. after which we had to pick up 1 million ( a stone) and throw it in the sea. this is what i know as a commitment stone. haha. we did reflections and a evaluation form. birin took the chance to make jokes and pretended to read from the evaluation forms: my instructor is handsome and cute. he is also very funny. haha. which no one wrote so. besides the funny part. soon it was time to leave and he wasnt there to see us take the boat. HOWEVER, we saw him on another boat while at Ponggol jetty. and said our goodbyes there. on the boat back, we sat on the 12 man speedboat with jon 2. haha. melissa ling was splashed and she was really wet it seemed. haha. jon 2 was like laughing away. mean right. and then he tried to act cool. haha. he grabbed a bar from the top of the boat and swung over our heads but ended falling. haha. but his was a cushioned fall cause of our bags. haha. then when getting off the boat then he didnt want to do it again. haha. and was like. please move. make way. haha. and so we moved. haha. he was so funny. just hearing him speak is like u dunno what to say. he got this funny accent and its like very funny. haha. upon reaching the jetty, jon 1 was on the other boat. haha. so we saw top jons at the jetty. haha. our last view of them. haha. and we took a bus back to school. the bus driver didnt even know where to go. haha. he was like. this bus wanna go where ah. haha. and i sitting infront told him. and he wasnt even sure how to get there larh. haha. we had to direct him to our school. haha.

obs was like so fun you will miss it totally. haha.

RANDOM FACTS
1/ i managed to unbuckle yibo and amelia's bra. haha. without much effort.
2/ minzhen and i went around for eye-candy.
3/ it rained heavily for 3 nights.
4/ i peed in the bushes 2 times and once in the sea.
5/ we didnt manage to bath after kayaking.
6/ i forgot to bring my comb.
7/ my bag strap broke on the first day.
8/ i have alot of mosquito bites on myself. 23 on my right arm.
9/ im not sure about the other limbs. and parts of my body.
10/ MARCO POLO only bathed 3 times in 5 days.
11/ we bonded really well.
12/ i didnt buy anything but told ting to help me get a free platic bag cause i found it nice.
13/ peanut butter cookies were my favourite. besides museli bars.
14/ the long stairs in camp 2 has a total of 99 steps.
15/ birin is very funny. so is minzhen. haha.
16/ there are 7 jons altogether. ask me on msn.
17/ we pitched/striked tents 4 times.
18/ there is a time to be serious and a time for jokes. (birin's favourite line)
19/ guides skills are very useful in camps.
20/ this is the last random fact.
